Manual for maintenance and repair of Children's umbrellas

Thank you for choosing our umbrella!

Our children's umbrellas are designed for comfort and ease of use, keeping you dry during rainy days. With proper care, you can extend the life of your umbrella and ensure it continues to perform at its best. Follow the tips below for use and maintenance.

1. Operating tips

  • Open and close correctly

Always open the umbrella with care. Gently shake out the umbrella before opening it and close it carefully without forcing the spokes.

  • Do not use in strong winds

Advise children not to use the umbrella when the wind is strong. Strong winds can cause the canvas to tear or the spokes to bend. When it is windy, hold the umbrella firmly and always turn the cloth towards the wind direction to prevent it from flipping over.

  • Safety first

Check regularly that all parts are securely fastened. In particular, check the ends of the spokes; these should be covered with protective caps to prevent sharp edges.

2. Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Cleaning the cloth

Clean the canvas of the umbrella with a damp cloth, warm water and a mild detergent. Use a soft cloth or sponge and avoid harsh detergents as they may damage the material.

  • Maintenance of the mechanism

Check regularly that the opening and closing system works smoothly. If the mechanism goes stiff, you can apply a small amount of silicone spray or Vaseline to the sliding mechanism. Have an adult do this and test it a few times by sliding the umbrella open and closed.

  • Protection against rust

Always let the umbrella dry completely before folding and storing it. This will prevent rust from forming on the metal parts.

3. Protection and Care

  • Use for the right purpose

Children's umbrellas are meant to keep children dry during rain. Do not use the umbrella as a play or fighting attribute, as this may cause damage to the frame and fabric.

  • Store in a dry and safe place

Store the umbrella in a dry and safe place, out of the reach of small children when not in use. This will prevent damage caused by playing or misuse.

4. What to do in case of damage

  • Tear in the cloth

For small tears, you can use transparent tape. This will prevent the tear from tearing any further.

  • Loose spokes

If a spoke comes loose, you can carefully fix it with tape. Note that these repairs are temporary.

  • Major damage

If the umbrella's frame is bent or broken, or if the canvas can no longer be attached properly, the damage is often too great to repair. In that case, we recommend not using it anymore.

5. Sustainable use and recycling

  • Repeated use

Our children's umbrellas are designed for repeated use. By using them carefully, you reduce the need to buy a new one and contribute to a more sustainable world.

  • Recycle

At the end of the umbrella's life, you can contact local recycling services to have the umbrella properly disposed of.

Thank you for caring for your umbrella!

With proper care and use, you can extend its lifespan and contribute to a more sustainable world. We hope you enjoy your umbrella even on the rainiest of days!
